Who we are

Sabi Coders Academy ("Sabi Coders", "we", "us") runs online coding and AI classes for children and teenagers from Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us at info@sabicoders.com.ng or on WhatsApp.

What we collect and why

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your name (optional), email address and/or WhatsApp number, the page you signed up on, your country, and the time you gave consent. We use this to send tips, news and class offers. Our legal basis is your consent.
  • Enrolment and class registration: details a parent or guardian gives us to enrol a child (such as the child's name and age, and your contact details). We use this to run the class and communicate with you. Our legal basis is performing the contract with you.
  • Anonymous site statistics: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referring website and country. We use a random identifier stored in your browser, not your name, and we do not store your IP address. We use this to improve the site.
  • Advertising pixels (only if you accept): Meta (Facebook) and TikTok pixels, which use cookies to measure which adverts lead to enquiries and registrations. They load only after you click "Accept". You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the site footer.
  • Messages you send us by WhatsApp or email, so we can reply.

Children

Our website and newsletter are for parents and guardians. Please do not submit the details of a child under 18 without a parent's or guardian's involvement. When a parent enrols a child, we collect only what we need to run the class, and we do not use a child's details for marketing.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers to run the site and our communications, including website hosting (Vercel), our database (Supabase), payment providers such as Paystack (we do not see or store your card details), messaging services such as WhatsApp, and, if you accept cookies, Meta and TikTok. These providers may process data outside your country, including outside Nigeria, the UK and the EU/EEA.

How long we keep data

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Enrolment records are kept for as long as needed to run classes and meet our legal and accounting duties. Anonymous statistics are kept in aggregate form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and Canadian law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority. In Nigeria this is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. To use any of these rights, email info@sabicoders.com.ng. Every newsletter message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also use the unsubscribe link we send.

Security

We restrict access to the data we hold, use encrypted connections, and keep administrator access protected by individual logins. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
